Senior Consultant [NZST] – Blue Economy & Carbon Markets

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Consultant – Blue Economy & Carbon Markets to join our growing Net Zero Sustainability Transition (NZST) practice.

This role is ideal for professionals with strong technical expertise in carbon markets, blue carbon, and nature-based solutions, who are passionate about delivering high-impact advisory work. Working closely with the Leadership team, you will provide technical leadership across consulting engagements, develop strategic insights, and contribute to thought leadership that advances sustainable development across Indonesia and internationally.

What you’ll be up to in this role

Lead technical workstreams across projects related to carbon markets, blue carbon, and nature-based solutions.
Conduct policy, market, and technical analysis to develop evidence-based recommendations for clients.
Assess market trends, policy developments, and investment opportunities related to energy transition in Indonesia and globally.
Supervise and mentor junior consultants, ensuring high-quality outputs and team growth.
Contribute to business development efforts, including proposal development, client engagement, and knowledge generation.
Prepare reports, whitepapers, executive brieﬁngs, and presentations to support client decision-making.
Build up and own client relationship, understanding the client’s issues and how to support, rectify issues, and contribute to their success
Represent Equatorise in stakeholder meetings, technical forums, conferences, and industry engagements.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Marine Biology, Sustainable Development, Economics, Public Policy, Climate Science, or related disciplines.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in consulting, advisory, research, government programmes, or climate-related initiatives.
Demonstrated expertise in carbon markets, blue carbon, biodiversity ﬁnance, or nature-based solutions
Experience working with international development institutions or national government agencies (K/L) is an advantage
Experience at a top-tier global consulting ﬁrm is a strong plus
Proven track record of delivering high-quality work with great attention to detail
Ability to adapt to changing conditions and effective time management

Bonus points if you

Have higher education qualiﬁcations from reputable universities in the UK, Europe, the US, or Indonesia.
