Iqbal Fahmi

Iqbal is a Senior Consultant in Global Health & Life Sciences at Equatorise. He is a medical doctor and global health consultant by training, specialising in health system resilience, sustainable healthcare, and the intersection of climate change and health.

In his role, Iqbal works with partners to integrate diagnostics innovation, early detection, and sustainability into health systems in Indonesia and beyond. He brings frontline clinical experience from diverse settings, comparative insights from UK and European health systems, and is recognised for translating research into policy, leading international collaborations, and shaping global health dialogue through advocacy and speaking engagements.

Prior to Equatorise, Iqbal served as Senior Scientific and Public Affairs lead at Sysmex Asia Pacific, where he managed in-vitro diagnostics projects, built strategic partnerships with ministries of health and professional bodies, and translated scientific evidence into impactful strategies and tools. Before that, he worked in Medical Affairs at Hi-Lab Diagnostic Center, providing scientific support for diagnostic tests and vaccines and establishing the company’s first dedicated Medical Advisor role. Earlier in his career, he practised as a general practitioner and COVID-19 Screening Centre Coordinator with International SOS in Papua, Indonesia.
