PR and Strategic Communication Consultant

The Opportunity

Equatorise is looking for a driven Public Relations & Strategic Communication Consultant to strengthen our Marketing Communications, Media Management and PR capability, while also supporting project delivery in the Digital Tech & Innovation stream. This is a hands-on consultant role: you will design and execute communication strategies, manage media relationships and support cross-functional project delivery for clients and internal initiatives.

What you’ll be up to in this role

Public Relations & Media Management
- Lead proactive media relations: build story angles, draft press releases, backgrounders and Q&As.
- Manage media enquiries, coordinate interviews, media briefings and press events.
- Maintain and grow strong relationships with national and regional journalists, media agencies and broadcast producers.
- Support corporate engagement with Indonesia and global business VIP/VVIPs, ensuring protocol, briefings and media handling are professionally managed.
Strategic Communications & Marketing
- Develop integrated communications and marketing plans that align with client and firm objectives.
- Manage relationships with government contacts, industry associations, and corporate partners as required for comms and project outcomes.
- Ensure consistent, on-brand messaging across channels (digital, print, events).
Project Delivery — Digital Tech & Innovation Stream
- Support delivery of client projects in Digital Tech & Innovation: translate technical outputs into clear external communications and stakeholder materials.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to produce client-ready presentations, case studies, and go-to-market collateral.

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related ﬁeld.
3+ years professional experience in journalism, media business, corporate PR, or consultancy communications.
Existing relationships with national / regional media agencies, editors, senior journalists, and government communications ofﬁcials.
Experience dealing with VIP/VVIP engagement and media handling for high-proﬁle ﬁgures.
Consultancy experience (client management, deliverable ownership).
Strong writing and editing skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
Excellent stakeholder management and event coordination skills.

Bonus points if you

Have higher education qualiﬁcations from reputable universities in the UK, Europe, the US, or Indonesia
Experience supporting projects in digital technology, innovation, or tech advisory contexts (ability to translate technical topics
into accessible messaging).
